We are informal, but we like the best there is — that's why we give preference to the best products in the region. We are unpretentious, we offer a simple menu with modern, comfort food cooked on the fire, in our wood oven. And we want you to sit with us, at the table, at the counter, in the winter garden overlooking the uplands, and for this to be a moment of sharing that you will never forget and will make you want to return.

I'm Rafael Morais
I began my training at the School of Hotel Management and Tourism in Coimbra (EHTC), where I had the opportunity to intern at various hotels and work with renowned chefs, whose influence was crucial to my professional growth. I am grateful to these chefs for everything they taught me along the way. At the young age of 20, I took on the responsibility of leading the kitchen at Gustav restaurant in Coimbra.
In 2018, I decided to return to Lousã, specifically to what was once called Palácio da Lousã, where I had previously completed internships. Since then, I have remained at this location, now known as Octant Lousã, as the Chef since 2023.
For me, there is nothing more rewarding than satisfying customers by providing them with unique gastronomic experiences and contributing to the creation of unforgettable memories. I strive to combine the simplest ingredients that the mountains have to offer, as well as explore the treasures from the sea and our islands, always with the utmost respect for the ingredients used in the kitchen.
